Exactly Adam, humans will always be humans once in their lifetime, they should be happy with the commitment that they have promised to one another and should not find infidelity to be the answer to situations.

Animal Cruelty - How disgusting
It really saddens me to hear a story on animal cruelty, I find it to be very repulsive. I can't understand why people do it, where in their heart lies a cold, sick and twisted mind to hurt a innocent animal, I honestly don't know. I believe that people will back me up on this and agree that it is disgusting and inhumane.
I am an animal lover so to see humans do this to animals, it's beyond me. I shan't say no more on this apart from more should be done in order to completely stop this. Although, figures shown in 2006 that animal cruelty convictions are down by 20%, this is good but more still can be done as some sick people are still out there mistreating animals.

I agree with you totally Sharna, some jokes can be taken too far and sometimes can get discriminating, offensive or may even be racial.

Corruption - Good for Baddies
We normally hear about corruption occuring with international policing around the world, surprisingly even the UK policing crops up now and then.
Nearly half of all police forces in England and Wales have officers facing charges of corruption or dishonesty, according to a survey by The Times newspaper. Altogether 105 police officers in 19 out of 43 forces are under investigation.
Police should be serving the community and honour the civil service that they perform, and not bring shame to the force. An example of ex police commander, who was caught in taken bribes and was named and shamed by Met Police Authority as well as the society. Damn right it should be too!
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23820540-met-police-decision-due-on-future-of-jailed-commander-dizaei.do
I believe UK police are becoming a failure and a sham to society, as criminals are let loose down to bribery or the police destroy evidence due to corruption. Either way, I'm not a big fan of the UK police as it happens as they are too quick to let instances or events go, it's bad and wrong in morality.
What's the saying again? Crack down on crime?? Yeah whatever!

Precisely Ruge! I'm glad you understand lol.
You have exactly described my friend, the one time she smoked a cigarette infront of me and I looked on the cigarette package and said, "Eww, look at that picture!" and her calm response was, "That'll never happen to me". You can imagine what I was thinking in my head lol. Quit while you're flaming ahead!

I totally agree with you in some cases with the typical expectations within British Asian families.
Personally, I believe that there is nothing wrong with previous pre-marital relationships as you know for a fact that girls/women have been involved in relationships whether it's sexual or non-sexual but it does happen. It's the individual's choice to take decisions like these on.
In some cases, yes it does have a negative impact accordingly to the traditional minded families as they tend to find the fact to be utter disgusting. I believe this emphasises and pushes girls even more to react this way because British Asians families do not tend to let girls be independent at all and us girls need that to learn life.

Cheeky buggers!
As we all like to hear a good joke, or watch an audience with a comedian, there's always a limit on what the joke is on. For example, Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross fiasco taking the mick out of Andrew Sachs, really what was the whole point of it all?? They stupidly carried out this foolish prank which automatically lead to controversy with political rows and careers to go down the toilet. Literally.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell_Brand_Show_prank_telephone_calls_row
Recently, comedian Jimmy Carr made a joke regarding British soldiers who had lost limbs in battle in Iraq and Afghanistan. For me that is totally unacceptable and many would agree too. There are soldiers as we speak who are fighting for this country and putting their life on the line and unamusing British comedians are making a joke of this. Quite embarrassing, I'd say! More information on what he did and his apology is on the link below:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1222917/Soldiers-join-outcry-Jimmy-Carrs-sick-amputee-joke.html
A joke can hurt people in many ways and some people are oblivious to this fact, maybe they should think twice or thrice times on what they joking about.

Smacking Children - allowed or banned?
Well, I heard a debate on BBC Radio Two on smacking children, whether it should be brought back in UK, most of the responses were disagreements, as they believed that smacking children can affect a child dramatically. They discussed the physical, emotional, social aspects of what may occur in effect to smacking.
However, within families there is smacking going on when a child is totally out of control, some may agree with me, some may disagree. It is only in public where someone witnesses such a doing and react awkwardly to the situation, whether the child is smacked across the face or even their butt.
But still, is it allowed within families that when the child is being a brat, disrespectful, being physical to you, you should show them discipline by smacking them? Is it a drastic measure in society?
I totally disagree with smacking children as it's perceived to be a form child abuse and this could become a habit for some parents and potentially lead to child abuse which could result in:

I believe that the Goverment is not emphasising enough on the dangers of smacking children nor they are attempting to completely ban this mistreatment. As clearly stated in the link provided below: http://current.com/1gr164c

A Lion would never cheat on his wife! But a Tiger Wood!
Hehe under Tiger Wood's name it states: "When 18 holes isn't enough". Oh dear ..!
Well, as we know Tiger Woods has been a bad boy with all these numerous affairs and it's caused his career to go down the pan just for the sake of a quick fumble. More so, his poor wife Elin to go through all the embarassment adding more pressure to her problems. To think that he has sexually and passionately made love to all the women behind his wife's back is pretty disgusting and dirty.
It's like Ashley Cole cheated on the nation's sweetheart Cheryl Cole, everyone knows that Cheryl Cole is mad to take him back, but cheating on her the second time you know he's taking the biscuit. Infidelity can affect the physical, psychological, social and I'm sure it's affected her in many ways. Especially, as she's in the media and entertainment limelight, it's considered to be worse.
Infidelity is wrong within a marriage without a doubt, you have a lot to lose and to gain trust back you have to earn it by working your butt off.
I believe people should think twice about jumping into bed with another person, as lust is a dangerous game and can lead to lives being shattered. I think those two should have considered to have taken advice about lying and infidelity or maybe read the link provided below!

I believe that Smoking within the media and entertainment industry can appear to be quite sexy! Although, I am personally against smoking! I know what a hypocrite but it seems to work for actors/actresses more so along with their sex appeal.
I mean I don't think for a second that anyone would say that the moment Sandy from 'Grease' transformed herself into a sex bomb, with the fag in her mouth 'tell me about it, stud', appears to be bad, but would rather agree and say it's sexy. I found it to be quite sexy!

Drugs
Now there are different types as well as uses with drugs. The purposes can be acknowledged for medicinal use, recreational use or even spiritual use. If people are to use drugs for recreational and the drugs are prohibited to intake or consume then of course that is wrong and the takers are breaking the law.
The Government have had problems in prioritising the classes of drugs, their strategical plan in order to keep Britain in control. Question is, is it working? There's a PDF file provided in the link below, which explains the Goverment policy in regards to drugs and answers the question too.

Overall, if an individual is misusing an illegal drug as part of their enjoyment and become addicted to fulfil their personal desires then of course it's bound to be perceived as bad. Prime examples, Kerry Katona and Amy Winehouse these showbiz artists aren't really helping at all, are they?!
On a personal note, say no to drugs! Stay sane, drug free and you may live younger.

Masturbation
For me, this is quite an uncomfortable topic to comment on, more so it's a little embarassing! However, I'm not going to deny that I have never tried because that would be bull. You all have done it! I don't know anyone who has ever said that they have never masturbated, if so they're lying.
Anyways, it was a fundamental rule not to discuss sex itself in my family, the reason for this is down to my upbringing from a cultural traditional background, as most asian families would consider masturbation to be very taboo. Perhaps this was due to religious beliefs with 'lust' being one of the bad vices in Sikhism. Maybe my family assumed that mentioning sex would encourage a young mind, I can't honestly tell you.
However, I learnt more about sex education at school including masturbation but also from friends and their older siblings. Personally, masturbation is considered to be a healthy sexual behaviour as it has advantages, for instance, it relieves tension, lowers blood pressure.
Furthermore, like other behaviours, when over practiced or addicted it can lead to both psychological and physiological imbalances. As shown in the provided link below:
http://www.herballove.com/library/resource/overmas/fatal.asp
This is a very useful link, as it contains a survey where it asks if you over masturbate but also has case studies on people's experiences with masturbation.

I totally agree with you Ameena, some people can lie for a living such as a Barrister and blimey some of them can lie for England! I see your point as to how people can be compulsive liars and have a tendency to admire the habit.
I've been in similar situations as yourself regards to protecting a friend through lying and at times I have survived and other times I got it right in the neck! I would say it's 50/50 depending on situations.
I was extremely lucky to get this job, although I did have the intentions to be fully honest and see if I was capable enough to become employed to one of Britain's leading departmental stores. I couldn't risk the chance of losing out, and thats when I decided I have to do something. The key point about this is that in time I definitely got better with maths and my confidence grew into character. I did achieve something at the end through lying and that was my input to Maths haha!

I thank you for understanding and sending the same message across regarding smoking whilst pregnant. Isn't this reality and so disappointing? There are many pregnant smokers out there that still continue to do this! They obviously don't understand the fact the dangers, harm and mistake that they're creating. If they are aware of this, which I'm certainly sure of, they should stick something on the end of it and not have babies. May sound harsh but it's the truth.

Prostitution
Well, I would say that it is only bad if they are forced in doing this job as many girls from abroad are promised jobs to financially provide for their families back at home when unknowingly to them they've become victims of trafficking for prostitution.
If it's considered as a hobby or a passion, taking a leaf out of the infamous Brooke Magnanti who was known by the pen name Belle Du Jour who became a London call girl. She supported her income by taking this job and more or less sold her body to men for the quick fix of cash. The difference is that there are some girls that enjoy doing this for a living. What's wrong with that? If they enjoy this profession, then who are we to say?
More information is the link provided on the London Call Girl herself.
Liar liar! Your bum's on fire!
Now, we have all been told during the very prime years of our lives that lying is morally wrong. You all must remember that rhyme as seen on my title. We all must have told some few fibs in our time. There are many types of lying however, the question I've always asked myself is, when is it ok to lie?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lie#Types_of_lie
However, this lecture got me thinking of my own actions whenever I get caught out, even over stupid silly things. We've all done it, it may have resulted in positive things and in some cases negative.
For me, I once told a lie during a job interview, where I was asked if I was competent with Maths and operating the tills. My CV said so otherwise that I passed Maths with a C grade at GCSE Intermediate level whereas truthfully, it was embarassingly lower than that! (My teacher was evil! Her fault!) I answered with full confidence that I gained that C grade and I have the ability to operate the till. I felt my cheeks throbbing, ten to a dozen knowing that I lied with integrity to make myself look good and have the chance to work. I got the job at the end, and in time I got better at Maths.
So, sometimes lying with integrity can be good as long as it doesn't harm or offend any other person!

Dietary requirements in later family life, contraction of infectious disease? You're missing the point I have made my friend.
I did not state that Government should rule each individuals family life on their dietary requirements, I stated that when the precious moments of knowing that the individual is carrying a life, shouldn't more be done by the Government in order to prevent the hazardous potential dangers to the unborn?
The Government should take action underlining the point of NOT taking over their lives, BUT make individuals aware of the importance of gestation and to become a parent this should be made vital priority. That's my argument.
However, the point you made is adequate and everyone is entitled to their opinion.
In response to your comment, if the decision of smoking whilst pregnant is left down to people, this just shows that the individuals' are not setting a good example even before they reach parenthood. The wishes of smoking during pregnancy results in the baby's suffering.
"When you smoke, over 4,000 chemicals enter your body. One of those chemicals is carbon monoxide, which gets into your bloodstream, and stops your baby from getting as much oxygen."

My dad was the same! After 20 years of smoking, he suffered a heart attack and I watched him through it from a young age. At the end, it came to my dad going through a double heart bypass surgery and it was very painful to watch him with all the tubes going into his body. The worst thing is, that he still continues to smoke fully aware of how his life is at much greater risk. I guess my dad does not appreciate the second chance that he's been given, silly man.

Smokin'! Somebody stop them!
Well, in regards to Smoking, I personally and strongly express that smoking is bad, as we all know it, that it's an addiction. Yeah I've had a few drags myself in the past and I must say there was no fascination of inhaling the fumes at all!
Majority of the people know that the 'fags' that smokers inhale contains nicotine, which is a harmful drug that affects your health, not only that it contains other chemicals. But still they disregard the facts!
You see horrendous images on cigarette boxes such as the one shown here, doesn't it make your stomach churn to see what smoking can do to YOU?
What I find despicable is pregnant women smoking, when they are fully aware of the harmful affects it has on the unborn. Prime examples: Kerry Katona & Britney Spears.
Why isn't the Government emphasising to the nation on how BAD this is?
Should the Government introduce a new law, where pregnant women are registered and tested every month, if nicotine is found in the bloodstream, they should be automatically be fined??
It would be ideal, as money dominates this world and with a new arrival on the way, money is foremost prominent.
Perhaps, the Government should set up a more immutable and permanent smoking cessation to tackle their addiction through these precious moments of carrying a life in their wombs.

Suggested topic for Week 12!
I would like to suggest and highlight an issue for week 12 that's pushed to one side in today's society and that is Sadism.
The definition of sadism is: "An act of pleasure in the infliction of pain or humiliation upon another person."
Imagine your first initial thought when you look at this picture.
This can unfold many perspectives about why is this picture also sexual sadism in reality is portrayed to be bad.
Is it a sexual desire for people amongst us, who may want to experience the pleasure or follow and practice this act?
Could it be that you may even follow this but rather keep it to yourself? Why?
But what is to be said in their support?
Either one way we should know, this suggestion may be explicit to students, but by taking this option we can unfold reality.
The suggestion is, let's visit a fetish club and get the downsides of WHAT do we see as being bad there. Personally meet someone sharing the background and voice their opinion and why he/she disregards the taboo restrictions.
This topic should be considered to be a mature investigation that would allow issues to be drawn out into the spotlight and be discussed.
There's a link that I would like for you to read! Enjoy! Well some of it!
